How to Merge PDF Files Online

Combining separate reports, receipts or scanned documents into one PDF makes a file easier to share, archive and print.

1. Prepare your files

Find the PDFs you want to combine and give them clear filenames. If the order matters, decide the sequence before starting. Check that each file opens correctly and keep untouched originals as a backup.

2. Select and arrange

Open the Merge PDF tool and select at least two PDF files. Arrange the files in the required sequence if the tool provides ordering controls. The first selected or first listed document may appear first in the output, so review the order carefully.

3. Merge and verify

Run the merge and save the result. Open the combined PDF and check the first and last pages, page count, orientation and any forms or annotations that must be preserved. If the file is too large to email, consider a compression workflow—but inspect the quality after compression.

Common problems

A damaged or password-protected source PDF may fail to process. Very large files can use substantial device memory, especially on phones. Try smaller batches if the browser becomes slow.

Frequently asked questions

Can I merge more than two PDFs?

Yes, choose the files you need and arrange them in the desired order.

Are the original PDFs changed?

The merge creates a new output file; keep the originals until you have checked the result.
